Getting started
What is Deen Verse?
Deen Verse is an iPhone app for spending a few minutes each day with the Holy Quran, hadith, duas, and supplementary Islamic content. It includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a Wallpaper shortcut, daily reminders, and optional alarms (on iOS 26 and later).
Which devices does Deen Verse support?
Deen Verse v1.0 is built for iPhone running iOS 18.0 or later. iPad support may come in a future update. The App is not built for Mac.
Is Deen Verse free?
The core App is free to download and includes a meaningful selection of verses, hadith, and duas. Deen Verse Premium unlocks all categories, all themes, and the full set of widget configurations. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial.
Subscription & billing
How much does Deen Verse Premium cost?
$29.99 per year (USD), with a 3-day free trial for first-time subscribers. Pricing on storefronts outside the United States may differ; the price shown in the App at checkout is the price Apple will charge.
How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. You can cancel any time before the next renewal:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Deen Verse and tap Cancel Subscription.
You can also tap Settings → Manage subscription inside Deen Verse to jump straight to the same screen. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep premium access until then. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
How do I restore a previous purchase?
Open Deen Verse → Settings → Restore purchases, or open the paywall and tap Restore. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID that originally purchased the subscription.
Is Family Sharing supported?
Yes. Deen Verse Premium is enabled for Family Sharing. When the family organizer turns on sharing for the subscription, every member of the Family group gets premium access at no extra cost.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Deen Verse, and request a refund. Refund decisions are at Apple's discretion. If you believe you were charged in error, email us at support@deenverse.app and we'll do our best to advocate for you with Apple.
I cancelled but I'm still being charged. What now?
Make sure you cancelled the correct subscription on the correct Apple ID — many people accidentally cancel a different app or use a different Apple ID for purchases vs iCloud. Check iOS Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions for the active list. If Deen Verse still appears as Active and you've already cancelled, email us and include a screenshot.
Widgets & wallpapers
How do I add the Deen Verse widget to my Home Screen?
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap the + button in the top-left.
- Search for Deen Verse and pick a widget size.
- Tap Add Widget, then Done.
How do I add a Lock Screen widget?
- Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap Customize.
- Tap the area below the clock and choose Add Widgets.
- Pick Deen Verse from the list and tap to add.
My widget isn't updating. What should I do?
- Make sure the App has been opened at least once after install.
- Check iOS Settings → Deen Verse → Background App Refresh is on.
- Long-press the widget and tap Edit Widget to confirm your category selection.
- If it's still stuck, remove the widget and re-add it.
Widgets refresh on Apple's schedule, not ours — typically every few hours, more often when the screen is being used.
How do I set a Deen Verse wallpaper?
Open Deen Verse → Settings → Wallpapers, choose a verse and a theme, then tap Save Wallpaper. The image is saved to Photos and you can set it as your wallpaper from iOS Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper → Photos. The Wallpaper Shortcut also appears in the Shortcuts app for one-tap re-use.
Notifications & alarms
How do I enable daily reminders?
Open Deen Verse → Settings → Notifications and turn on Daily reminder. Choose a time. Notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device — the reminder text never leaves your iPhone.
Why are my reminders not arriving?
- Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Deen Verse is allowed.
- Check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't filtering Deen Verse out.
- Make sure your iPhone has been unlocked recently — iOS may delay notifications on a device that hasn't been used in a while.
What is the difference between a reminder and an alarm?
A reminder is a regular notification — easy to miss if your phone is silent. An alarm (available on iOS 26 and later via Apple's AlarmKit) rings even in silent mode and Focus, and stops only when you dismiss it. Use alarms for prayer times you absolutely don't want to miss.
Sync & data
Where is my data stored?
Your favorites, collections, About You answers, and reading history live on your device and (if iCloud is enabled) sync privately to your personal iCloud Drive via Apple's CloudKit private database. We do not have access to your CloudKit private database — only you do.
How do I sync between my iPhones?
Sign every device into the same Apple ID and make sure iCloud Drive is on. Deen Verse uses Apple's CloudKit to sync, so once iCloud is configured, everything syncs automatically when each device is online.
How do I delete my data?
Most data is on your device or in your iCloud — neither of which we can reach. To delete it:
- Inside the app: clear individual items (favorites, collections, About You answers).
- Sign out of iCloud or remove Deen Verse from Manage Storage → Deen Verse in iCloud settings to clear the private CloudKit database.
- Uninstall the App on each of your devices.
To delete the small amount of data we can access (anonymous Crashlytics installation IDs, PostHog event identifiers, RevenueCat subscription records), email support@deenverse.app with the request and we'll respond within 30 days.
Troubleshooting
The app crashed. What should I do?
Force-quit the App (swipe up from the bottom and flick the Deen Verse card up), then reopen it. If the crash repeats, please email us at support@deenverse.app and include:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- The Deen Verse version number (visible in Settings → About).
- What you were doing in the App when it crashed.
Crash reports are also sent to us anonymously through Firebase Crashlytics, but a description from you helps us reproduce the issue much faster.
I see incorrect translation / a typo.
We strive for source accuracy and welcome corrections. Email us with the verse or hadith reference, the issue, and a suggested fix. We'll review with care.
I have a feature request.
Email support@deenverse.app — we read every message. While we cannot promise to build every request, every roadmap decision starts with reading user feedback.
Privacy at a glance
Deen Verse does not run ads, does not sell your data, and does not transmit your About You answers, favorites, or reading history off your device. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
